Messenger boys worked as dogs bodies, delivering and collecting all sorts.

If he was a Postman this would have been proudly stated as far above a Messenger in status.

On an Irish census for 1901/11 I have a chap with an occupation of - it looks like - Messagner labour. should this read 'Messenger'? and if so would it be a postman.
