Thanks Jean, kandj and Lynda, hope this year is good for you all.

That's what's so frustrating, my son will make a lovely dad, he is so good with M. and he was with his previous gf's lad, J, who he saw just before Christmas for an afternoon. The lad is13 now and they still meet up occasionally.

I am presently sorting out the week for o.h.'s birthday in February, have found a lovely property that looks cosy, it's in Maldon, Essex, so only 18 miles from where o.h.'s son is moving to next week. It would mean we could see their new home and spend time with them near o.h's 60th birthday which would mean a lot to him.

I have often thought Maldon looked an interesting place to visit so hopefully things will work out and we can explore a new area for a change and spend time with the son and grandchildren etc.

I don't want to book just yet tho as I want to see what the weather is going to do and it's hard to tell a month away, but if the weather is bad, like snow etc, we don't want to have to drive more than 80 miles to get to the property and possibly get snowed in so far from home. Hard to decide how to sort it out.

There is already a lot of activity going on in your family this month. I hope you have the energy to keep up! Your son is a good support to his gf and her little boy and would surely make a lovely Dad, be patient though and look after yourself now. xx

Thanks all, hope this year will be better for everyone, including you Rose and Dan, Mr M, Elizabeth and Sylvia.

O.h.'s son in NY is going to be a dad to a baby girl, due on Janurary 15th. O.h's ex is getting married on Jan. 6th. His other son is moving further away on January 9th, twice the distance so twice the journey time on the train but we will still visit as much as we can and see the granddaughter 3, and grandson 9 months.
Friends of mine in Malta are expecting a baby boy this summer.

Maybe this will be the year my son and his gf presents me with good news, who knows?
