huge flash of light ... power went down and then a crash bang ....
Our investment in electrical protection and emergency power was worth every cent. Shed kaput.

As a minimum make sure yr TV, computers are protected by a surge socket don't rely just on the mains circuit breakers.

It must have been very scary...thanks for the warning about a surge socket.Don't know what they call them over here though.

Some lightning hits can be very scary, have all my electrical stuff connected through surge protectors, once bitten twice shy, I had a PC knackered during a storm in 2005.

Main thing is that you are ok - shed can be replaced but there is only one of you ;-)

and get your surge sockets checked out every so often as they can fail to do their job...
