I cannot understand why Boris Johnson's Barber was not mentioned. He must deserve credit for something surely!

Mr Cameron obviously likes people talking behind his back.

Happy days

Seems to have always been the same. All those poor folk who dealt with the bodily functions of Henry VIII no doubt got honours. As did Harold Wilson's cronies. :-) ;-)

Well, the normal hairdresser chit-chat about the client's family is more or less out of the window, as is the standby 'What are you doing today?'.

If the hairdresser has to resort to what he does in his free time, the funding raising is bound to have come up.

Don't really see why he shouldn't get an MBE, they give them to all sorts of people.
I very much doubt it had anything to do with cutting DCs hair.

George :-)

A Barber's chair accommodates all posteriors.

Various newspapers are reporting about the decision to award an MBE in the New Year’s Honours List, for services to hairdressing, to the hairdresser who restyled the Prime Minister’s hair by moving his side-parting from the right to the left.

The citation for his award refers to his 30 years in hairdressing and to his charity work, apparently on one occasion he raised £25,000 for the Oasis Trust by running the 2005 London Marathon.

Whitehall sources insist the PM was not involved in the decision to award an MBE to his hairdresser.

And The Band Played Believe It If You Like ;-)

Now, if I had any say about who gets an honour I would have suggested giving an MBE for services to his community and youth clubs to Nicky Wishart the 12 year old boy, who was taken out of his class at school and interviewed by police, about the group he set up on Facebook called "Save All UK Youth Centres" and the protest he was organising at David Cameron's constituency office in Witney. Well done that young man - nice to see young people do care.
