WILLY OR WILLIAM WALES - DO YOU KNOW HIM

My sister and I are in the process of researching our family tree and currently
trying to trace a gentleman by the name of, as we know it, Willy Wales who we
believe to be a native of Ontario and served with the Royal Canadian Engineers.
He would have been born during the 1920's, was serving with the Royal Canadian Engineers in Bordon, Hampshire, England in early to mid 1940's. We also have been led to believe that he was living in Peterborough, Ontario during the 1960's. Not entirely sure if Willy was short for William or Wilfred, whether it was a first or second name or even a nickname.
Also Wales may not be the correct spelling, it may have been mis-spelt over the
years from possibly Whales, Wails or could perhaps have been Wells.
Unfortunately we have no more information so seek help from anybody that may
have known him or still do.

Presumably the personal details have been removed now, as nothing seems wrong with OP. I thought it was the young man who has just started a course in estate management, so that he can manage his estates in a sustainable way. ;-)

In 1953, there is a farmer called William Wales living in Newburgh, Peterborough, Ont. Other Wales are Floyd WALES, farmer and Nina WALES, presumably a wife of one of others..

Could this be his grandfather in 1920c in Astruther Township, Peterborough?

William WALES, 68, farmer, born Ontario (father born England, mother Ireland)
Matilda WALES, 61, b Ontario (so were parents)
Russell WALES, 26, single, farmer, b Ontario (so were parents)
