Elvis Presley, the King of Rock 'n' Roll would be celebrating his 80th birthday this week.

Elvis died in Memphis, Tennessee, on the 16th of August in 1977, aged just 42-years-old.

It will be thirty eight years in August since Elvis died. He would have been eighty years old on eight of Jan. .What's the significance of 54 years Bob ?

I wonder, as must his family have done, whether Elvis' twin would have been able to sing too and if their future together would have been different hsd they sung together, or even if Elvis had had a close brother to lean on?

Now he is resting in peace and hopefully has his lost twin close with his family together.

Such a wonderful voice, 'Suspicios minds' was my favourite.

I have an almost life-size poster of Elvis .... my sister and me both adored him....

A few years ago we were together, just the two of us for New years Eve .......

We watched him on video and I played my CD of all his songs .......

Stupid or not we both danced around my living room holding this image of 'The King'
between us !

I loved Elvis, his music was part of my growing up. I have so many favourites, but the best one for me is "The wonder of you" So many happy memories. God Bless you Elvis. The King lives on :-D :-D

On this day in 1935, Mr Vernon Elvis Presley, aged 18 and Mrs Gladys Presley, who was 22, became the parents of a baby boy.

The couple went through conflicting emotions as Mrs Presley lost the other baby,
a twin boy, who was named Jessie Garon Presley.
