Family connections.

LOL.........I haven't found a single family in my paternal side that had anything, they were all ag labs, shepherds or gamekeepers. The one and only farmer was in the Workhouse by the next census.

But I feel very proud of all of them :-D :-D

Think he´s actually more disappointed that I didn´t find her on the moneyed side.
He says he thinks James Turner Street hasn´t changed much because his grandparents did a "moonlight flit" from there when they couldn´t pay the rent.
He doesn´t think the family finances have improved a great deal.

Talk about opposite ends of the scale.
Within the past 2 days, have discovered my grandfather´s brother in law was related to landed gentry.
OK, so he was no blood relative to me. Just my great uncle by marriage.
Today have just found my g grandfather´s brother........same side of the family......
living in James Turner Street Winson Green on the 1911 census.
Thought the street name was familiar when I saw the TV programme advertised, but I used to work for B´ham Housing Dept so didn´t really think anything of it.
Must e mail my cousin & tell him I´ve found his mum in 1911
