..maybe she's been told she should buy more fruit - so she does.
Unfortunately, she doesn't like fruit, so gives it to Fred.
So when asked if she's bought some, fruit, she can honestly say 'Yes', but doesn't mention that she hasn't eaten it!! :-D :-D


....well, that's what I would do if someone was 'nagging' me. I can't tell an out and out lie :-(
