Flog It is often on our television but I don't really watch it.

From seeing antiques programmes over the years I have come to the conclusion that auction rooms offer a very valuable service to society.

Were it not for them all those extremely odd people who gather there would be out wandering the streets!

Paul Martin doesn't annoy me nearly so much as the people who sell family heirlooms for quick gain.
Several times I've heard a child of the seller mention that they would have liked to have had granny's vase, or whatever.

Medals of a family member are something I would never sell.

Well, I'm trying to 'what's the word' - *download* some of my fripperies, but when I offer them to my kids they just 'what's the word?' - can't think of one, but their eyes roll a bit :-S :-(

Got stuff from parents houses but whether kids want is another matter.

Loads of pictures and papers but "got enough rubbish aready" the say.

When we're gone who knows what will happen. Same as we did i guess.

I agree.
My 3 won't want alot of my hand-me-downs, but I would not sell family items without giving them a chance to keep it in the family.

When Mum died though and I asked the girls if they wanted anything as a keepsake, they both chose inexpensive things which held special memories for them.

We will sell what we want to sell and we don't care about keeping it for the children or grandchildren, when we see it said that the children aren't interested we look at each other and wonder if they will be more interested the money.
SKI is what we are doing :-D

I used to like PM but of late he has started getting a bit boring, and other presenters etc are the same on those progs, they all want to know what the person selling the item will be using the money for. OK ask some of them but not each one. PM is getting a bit too touchy feely too and comes out with some rather too personal compliments to the women.

I think he should rein things back a little.
