Obviously someone thought things were getting too easy for you Sharron, or that you were too organised lol

Must be so frustrating for you, and for Fred and his mate

Sharron Report 27 Jan 2014 20:47

Fred has finally been to the hospital to have his preliminary check up for his eyelid operation.

After the ambulance not turning up because it had not been booked and my having to get him into Worthing for the check up quickly, he and his mate were taken there.

Awaiting the return journey, they were told by the crew that they had no record of Fred having an escort so they were not supposed to bring him home and, anyway, only dementia patients could travel with an escort!

Fred lost his speech with the stroke and talks a fair amount of gibberish (should that be more gibberish?) so I dread to think where he would be getting the ambulance to take him!

I would have thought that his mate, having been booked to escort him to hospital would, if only by a process of logic, be expected to accompany him home.

So, not only do I have to break down everything I get Fred to do into separate little pieces and pre-empt any difficulty, I have to do it for the ambulance service as well!
