O Dear, I'm afraid Liz has brought the rain to Maldon, this morning
it was sunshine and a clear blue sky, by lunchtime it was cloudy, it
is now 4 o'clock in the afternoon and it's wet and windy, thanks Liz. !!!!!

OOOH Frederick I have ancestors from Maldon . When we visited a few years ago was speaking to a local and was told if you are connected to the Chaney & Harvey Family then so are many of the old local families.

Loved the area and nearby places like Heybridge Basin . Did say to my sister YONKS ago when I found the Essex connection that basically we are Essex girls with white stilettos and beehive hairdos, BUT we are proud to be descended from Essex and Suffolk ancestors . many of whom were mariners or Oyster dredgers.

Hi Shirl, for your info there are 24 Harvey's and only 1 Chaney in the
Maldon area on the 2008 ER, although there are quite a few Chaney's
in Essex itself.

Thanks all, but guess what?

O.h. woke up yesterday with a sore throat and cough and didn't feel up to travelling so we are hoping to go today! Very unlike him to give in to health problems so hoping it's not a repeat of last year's bday when he was poorly on the day and diagnosed with a chest infection which kept him off work for a week after the week away.

Sorry about the weather folks, think this w/e is supposed to be bright but showery and then the rain sets in for the rest of the time !

Won't be spending much time with relatives if o.h. is poorly as won't want the gkids to get anything.

The son is having probs with the new house, apparently it wasn't well cared for and the heating pipes are all clogged up so heating is working properly and other problems are appearing. He said he had a survey but I am wondering if it was just the Building Society's one and not a full survey. False economy if so and no one to sue!

Oh well, will find out about it soon I expect, byeeeeee

blue skies since early morning, now 12.30, slight breeze but cool, it
chucked it down during the night though.

I trust that Liz is enjoying her days out, no rain since during the
night Saturday as mentioned in my last post, Sunday blue skies
and sunshine all day, Monday, slight frost first thing, then sunshine
all day with the odd cloud, today, blue skies and sunshine again, apart
from a ten minute shower with hailstones, then sunshine again with the
odd cloud, hope she's taking advantage and is out and about. :-) :-) :-)

Hi all, just to let you know I am back, safe and sound, got back on Saturday evening but lots to do and tired too, so just a short message today.

Had a good time, o.h. enjoyed his bday and the gkids were lovely especially little lad who is 11 months, always smiling, and loves a cuddle.

Weather wasn't too bad except for Thursday and we liked the house we rented and Premier Inn on Friday evening was excellent, perfect location just a couple of miles from family's new house.
