Over the years it has change for different things. but now we have

you can have sex at 16
marry with parents consent at 16
marry without parents consent at 18
go in a pub and drink at 18
allowed to drink wine, cider, porter at the age of 16 in a restaurant (although the can´t buy it)
drive at 17
leave home at 16 with parents consent
leave home at 17 without
You can train for war at 16/17 and be send to war at 17/18
Your car insurance counts you as a teenager until 21
So you can´t hire a car under the age of 25 without major penalties.
You can work at 16.

I am the last person who will say all ages of consent should be the same BUT

Don´t you feel sorry for the 17yr old who is married with child and working who can´t go to the pub with his work mates for a beer ?

Any ideas out there ?
