My Gt grandfather is on my (said) grandmother's marriage certificate as deceased, and Reggie told me that she was probably illegitimate and they often put that on to make the person look more respectful, but he was wrong and that threw me off the line for a while..they were married and he was deceased. |

That is why my grandfather never married my grandmother even though they had 6 children together. I was told that they could only marry if her husband died and of course he didn't until after my grandfather did.No wonder there were so many illegitimate children in those days... |

I have several women on my tree whose husbands deserted them.... left the UK for Australia, USA, New Zealand, and probably other planets. |
