I know most of them and I always say hello in passing, on one side we have great neighbours who are very good friends and have been for the past 18 yrs on t'other side we dont get on ,I do the daughter and SIL but not her and it isnt for want or trying, on the whole there is a great community sprirt, I known most , most of my life either went to school with them or their children. We have one that is a noseybat and knows all the comings and going but I can live with that as we are out at work all day.

Years ago when Itsmytelly was on nights, I had gone to pick my children up from school and the chap from across the street was there picking up his grandchildren, he asked me want time Itsmytelly gets up, I told him about 4 pm ish why? He said , I said t'wife I need to mow the lawn in the front garden and that lad's been working all night. I thought that was very sweet and havent ever forgot it. :-D

There are only 8 houses in our street.

A hermit lives in one, she doesn't like talking to people. We've never seen the people in the corner house. Two houses are rentals. Lady across the road waves to everyone. We're friendly with both our immediate neighbours. Everyone tries to ignore the weirdo.

Our two neighbours.........we do the things "good" neighbours should, but we're not running in and out of each other's houses ~ that would drive me insane.

Neighbour's dogs think they live in our place lolol

Forgot to say... I am a caring neighbour who checks on the old when we have a power cut or no water to make sure their needs are met.

I lived in a detatched bungalow at the top of my village. There are 11 houses in the road and I know them all very well.

If anyone needed help, all of us would assist each other whatever time of day or night. We have had a couple of new families move in and out in the last few years, but have to say the new people were lovely and have become good friends now.

That's one of the advantages of living in a rural and remote place. There is a real community spirit.

So doesn't do to fall out with anyone!

Wouldn't dream of moving anywhere else.

We are in a small cul de sac, just one house we don't know the people, they rent, a military let. Most people have been here longer than 20 years. We take in parcels, people opposite apparently don't, they have 6 cats which is a pain, otherwise they are ok.either side of me are lovely. One side we have each others keys and they happily look after house and plants for a month at a time. I think we would all be here for each other if needed any time but most keep themselves to themselves. Age range in the road is from about 20 to late 70s.

Yes, I have lovely neighbours and I am sure they would say they are even luckier than me.

Other side is currently vacant. How much would it cost to get you to move to Rhondda, PH? :-D :-D

Don't really know them, apart from one lot who are the salt of the earth.

We have had months of police, social workers, council employees, and at one point a fire engine, coming and going next door. A few months ago 2 PCs had to climb over our fence to break IN! We don't know the story, and don't really want to, but it makes me a bit concerned as to 'what next' :-S

Coooeeeee.....Hello Elizabeth.

Well.....

Because I work from home, I get to.......

Take in all the neighbours parcels.
Get given everyone's spare key.
Get woken at 2am in the morning when a neighbour has forgotten their key. :-|
Get phone calls from the airport..........can you go and check to see if I turned the oven off! :-|
My ladder is referred to as the "Community Ladder".....because everyone borrows it.
I get to water everyone's plants and feed the cat when they go on holiday.
I get to take in the kids when they arrive home from school and nobody's in. :-|

I think I'm a jolly good neighbour!

:-D :-D :-D

We are one of those rows or rural council houses and we are all so quiet along here.

Of the six houses, only one has had a change of occupants in forty years.

Dull eh?
