Yes we live just down the road from a combined (NATO) army camp and sand is being delivered there and is being put into sand bags to be loaded onto lorries and taken to Tewkesbury, well done to all the emergency services and the military. Also to the people who are not flooded but who live near and are helping out their neighbours. There is a lot of good around. |

They are all doing a marvellous job, I also take my hat off them all, just a pity the politicians were a bit belated in bringing in the back up from the army, I believe Prince's William and Harry done about a six hour stint although I did not see any of our senior politicians heaving sandbags about - did you ;-) |

I understood the army were sent to one place that had problems several weeks ago but were turned away as 'not needed' How daft was that, and how hard they are working to help people now, in all kinds of ways. I loved seeing the Princes working hard, it would have boosted morale to the workers and the people in need of help. |

Around here in the midlands one of the local hunts has collected donated feed and hay from members and landowners and someone pledged £3000 to transport it all to the Somerset farmers. |
