Mau
I don't think they do. They do some sewing in Textiles but not in the same way as we did.
That's why I was surprised at Gloria having to explain so much at the beginning.

I suppose most people don't have to make clothes as it's relatively cheap to buy them now whereas when I was young we couldn't afford to buy so had to make our own.
Apart from dolls clothes I haven't made anything for ages :-0 :-0 :-0
Take care

I couldn't help but think that, all of the sewing tonight was what we learnt at school.
Do schoolchildren not learn basic sewing now?

I loved the blue lace nightdress :-)

I watched it Von as well as multitasking, I did think this series there
was lots of mistakes, and quite a few were tunning out of time ......but seeing as its only the first hopefully it will get better as the series goes on
......Loved some of the skirt designs, very clever :-)

What did you think?

I was amazed that Gloria was explaining darts, facings etc but if people don't sew these days how would they know.

I enjoyed the programme and learnt a few things. :-D :-D :-D
Looking forward to next weeks now
