I have rung the hospital again and explained the situation.

His mate has gone off to get a sausage sandwich to take in for him because they said that would be alright to do.

well done.

Don't like the thought of Fred getting upset & having withdrawal symptoms.

Fred's mate is a really true friend. The sausage sandwich idea is brilliant.

It's just how I do caring. I really can't be wiping mouths, or any other parts or being sympathetic but I can be thinking what I would want.

Fred's mate, however, was born to be a carer. He has all the patience that I don't and between us we seem to have hit the right mix.

Sounds like me Sharron.....I would be a terrible nurse, any of mine that take to their beds tend to get forgotten about after a couple of hours :-S

I am the practical one, my sister on the other hand just loves all the mucky bits!! *shudders*

Sharron

Sharron Report 19 Feb 2014 13:32

Yes, I know where I learned it too.

I can remember how studiously Fred could ignore me for hours if I ever took to my bed.

One particular time when he thought I hadn't been home for two days when I was in bed with flu!

I guess Fred didn't make chicken soup for you <3

or a sausage sandwich :-(

I am sure that sausage sandwich went down well. You don't do the mucky bits Sharron which is why you have the carers, you do the important bits. There are all sorts of different ways of caring.

Well, that was a waste of bloody time!

His mate went in with the sausage sandwich and he slept through the whole visit.

There's gratitude for you!
