If I dont know the person really well, say a friends friend or other extended family, then "thinking of you at this sad or difficult time" usually does the trick. |

Linda .I have had this worry of not knowing what to write in a card of condolence .I ended up googling the Question and got some very good ideas.It has to be the hardest type of card in which to send a message.You know what you want to say but putting it down on paper is just not so easy. |

I would say just "I am so very sorry to hear of your sad news". Unless you have some special personal connection I don't think you need to say anything more |
