once you kill the spores off and removed them, it may take 2/3 goes with white vinegar, its a natural product and harmless and an old toothbrush ........... wipe round seal with car polish or a clear shoes polish, the moisture should run off onto the sill which can be mopped up,,,,,,open the window while cooking..... |

We had new back bedroom windows put in in 2008. At that time the installers recommended vents being put in the top plastic frame . This lets in fresh air when wanted but can be switched off if needed. |

be careful with "mould spray", the chemicals in them can strip paint. |

Thanks both, will look out for that LScozz. It is the kitchen Hayley mainle but all rooms have it to some extent. Yes I will ask him when we get him to call, he is very good and is no cowboy. It is not round the glass but where the frame meets the sill. |

Ann - I fight a constant battle with mould :-( We live in the sub-tropics, so in summer when It's hot & humid it's even worse. |

First year we have noticed this and I assume it is down to the wet/damp weather. Our PVC windows (2 years old) have got a lot of mould along the join to the window sill. We have got most of it off with mould remover but it is hard work. |
