We don't have anything as posh as a stair gate, but with our 2 little dogs,an expanding piece of trellis serves the same purpose to keep the dogs in the kitchen, and out of our bed.We just stretch it across the doorway;it works well. :-D :-D

You are getting madder each day Uzzi lol or trying to convince us you are anyway.

Stair gates are actually very useful things when you have pets unless you get energetic animals that can jump over or squeeze through. I used mine to give my cats a chance to escape from the dog when she was feeling skittish.

pmsl Karen I am not sure I would be that joyous about a baby gate if it was for any other reason. I think that is what will confuse a few of our friends also as neither of us has children. !

:-D :-D :-D.

Anybody visiting us is going to be really confused. :-S :-S :-S :-S

We bought a Lindham baby gate last year but never bothered to put it up as the reason for getting it didn´t hang around long. :-( . I then decided it would be useful but it wasn´t wide enough for the gap. OH meanwhile sold it, still boxed for peanuts. It didn´t fit their gap either (thankfully) so it came back. I discovered you could get extensions for it so we got an extension and I now have a baby gate across my hall. The people who wanted to buy it also discovered the extension but too late I want to use mine. !

For anybody still confused. I originally bought it for mothers door to keep the dogs out (and her in). I have now put it across my hallway so when Minx goes to bed she still has the bedroom, utility and bathroom (all her hiding places) and Mini can have a run around without me getting twitchy.

I had been using a Carlton suitcase. Who would believe a decent baby gate would make me so happy !! :-D :-D.
