Well that was an encounter to get your blood pressure up Uzzi, I think I would have been the same as Minx and you lol

Glad they were friendly after all and no harm done.

What a shame you didn't find any plants to buy.

:-D

most big dogs have an undeserved bad reputation. The most had-tempered dog I've ever known was my aunt's poodle; horrible little animal.

Three big dogs (staffies) live next door, they are big softies.

A friend has a huge rotteweiller, it's the biggest sook on the planet.

:-D

:-D
Yesterday I dragged OH to a couple of garden centers. ! I mean OH voluntary took me to a couple of garden centers !.
The 1st one was out of town in the middle of arable land. Nothing there caught my eye at all (unless I wanted huge palm trees :-0. So we decided before putting the dogs back in the car we would give them a walk. ...
Down the track next door was huge poly tunnels and as we started walking passed these 3 dogs ran to the fence barking. ....I gawped 2 big dogs 1 little one. The little one about Minx size didn´t make it to the knee of the big dogs. These dogs were crossed Great Dane, St. Bernard and pony and not a small pony at that :-S. The larger of the 2 his head made nearly shoulder the smaller my elbow. I´m a smidgeon over 5·1".
That´s a deterrent said me as we discussed that they probably belonged to the garden center and decided to turn around and not aggravate them unnecessary.
Could you imagine walking down here and coming face to face with them, rather than behind the fence, I said ...OH in front of me muttered a reply. I in return said "Ha ha for a minute there I thought you said they were out" .....knowing that level with me was *gulp* 1 huge dog and 1 little dog and strolling down the track between us and the car was a very large dog.
I scooped Minx up and to my credit OH did the same to Mini. ..By the time I caught up the Pony in disguise had also wandered around the corner of the fencing.

I will tell you Minx was thinking of having a poo before this happened and I nearly had it for her ;-) OH went to the bitch (the smaller of the big dogs) with his hand out, and Mini on his shoulder I skirted around them and got Minx in the car.
They were actually big softies and enjoyed a huge fuss. Hence I know how big they were on me !
Once in the car mind I had to laugh....what was the point of me picking Minx up ..even if I could have held her over my head they could have reached her. ..What was the point of OH picking Mini up, on the floor they wouldn´t even have seen her. :-D

I would now like to go back to see them again because they were stunning looking dogs and I wish I had taken photo´s of them. Sadly they will have the Dane hip problems (you could see the walk in the dog) and everything which goes with these breeds. But to look at they really were amazing with the ST Bernard coat and colouring but the Danes height, legs and slimness.
Incidentally I didn´t find anything at the 2nd place we went to look either!
