Yahoo and webcams

It has been reported that our surveillance community and the USA's NSA has been intercepting the webcam stream of 1.8m Yahoo users in an operation called 'Optic Nerve'

I wonder how many sexual images they managed to get compared to terrorist activity?
And what happens to the normal personal information, I do understand they are trying to protect us, but can think of much better ways of doing so, then snooping on everybody.
