I wasn't very hungry tonight......... I had a small salad.

Himself had something really :-( healthy......... sausages!

He said they are healthy sausages...... made by a local butcher, who claims they are all beef, no fillers.

OK, but what part of the "beef" ? Probably ears, noses, pizzles, whatever.

I'm not a health nut, I eat my share of the things that the "experts" say aren't good for us........... I guess I'm lucky, because I really don't like most of the "nasty" stuff, like the fat on meat.

One thing I insist on...... I eat BUTTER!! It's natural, and a 250gr tub lasts us for weeks. Margarine is absolute rubbish.......... do you know it's grey until they stick in yellow food colouring?!!

No-one's saying don't eat them - just don't pig out. Nothing wrong with that.

Also bear in mind the 'middle man' - did you ever see an article that didn't have a 'shock, horror' tone to it?

Take it with a pinch of salt - only one pinch mind :-D

:-D :-D

Many years ago, OH was told he had high cholesterol. He came home & told me, also said I (me!) had an appointment with the dietician.

Off I went.

What a preachy, horrible woman she started out to be............... until I told her exactly what I fed OH, but couldn't control his "Aussie Manly Urges" for horrible things like pies, hamburgers & fish'n'chips...... not to mention those disgusting "mystery meat" things like hot-dogs (I refuse to eat them).

I spent over an hour with the woman, the last (at least) 15 minutes I was giving HER recipes, with a promise to send her more.

I didn't take any of the information sheets she offered me.

:-D

It's not just meat!

Reading is bad for your health :-0

If you followed all the recommended dietary guidelines you'd die of starvation :-0

Vive le pain et l'eau :-D

I've got a year and a bit to go.

Don't care........ I'm having lasagne! And freezing the rest for another day.

:-D

All those years I restricted my eggs, now they say eggs don't have the high cholesterol they first thought.

What's next?

My cholesterol level is 3.8.......... too high, said the doc! Get it below 3. Don't tell him I'm eating lasagne, I'm sure he'd prefer me to starve on lettuce leaves.

Well at least those of us over 65 can have some lasagne without worrying.
:-D

If we stopped eating everything they said was bad for us, we'd be hungry!

This is the latest "finding".....

I think I'll light up a sausage. :-D a smoked sausage?

I just made a huge lasagne........ meat and cheese......... I'm waiting for the food police to knock down the door. :-(
