I am pleased to read the comments on this as I had attempted the book and debated as to whether I would watch the film. I shall put it on my down load list. ;-)

My Mum never finished the book, said she found it hard going too so gave up, she rang me last night to tell me she had watched the film and was so moved by it.....she fell in love with little Rudi.....

Geoffrey Rush is such a fantastic actor, I thought he was great in The Kings Speech but in this film he was brilliant, calling Liesel "Your Majesty" it melted my heart <3

Soppy aren't I :-)

Yes, I enjoyed it too and Liesel and her little blonde friend were lovely. An interesting theme as Gwyn says.

I found some of the actor's accents difficult to understand at first, but not that of Liesel.
It was an interesting theme for a film set against well known events in history.

I'm glad my daughter suggested that we watch it.

I watched this film last night.....

Such a wonderful film in my eyes.......

The girl that plays Liesel the main character (Sophie Nelisse) is beautiful , also stars Geoffrey Rush and Emma Watson..........

Its so touching.... <3
