I do remember my mum, not letting my brother and me watch Bill and Ben.

Imagine this...... Mum, with a strong Scottish accent......... "Yer No watchin' that, I don't want ye to grow up talkin' funny"

Well we had a tv ... somebody must have had one or there would have been little point in making the programs! My grandfather thought it an extravagent waste of money but that didn't stop him from watching it! My great aunt came to stay for 2 weeks in about 1957 so as to watch Wimbledon on TV. By that time my father had updated the set to the monumental dimensions of 17in no magnifier!

I remember Andy Pandy ( and still know the theme song by heart ), had a crush on Luby Loo, Bill and Ben, Rag, Tag amd Bobtail ( precursor to tales of the Riverbank) and of course the frequent interludes.

afaik Andy Pandy & Bill & Ben have made it into modern color tv.
