Mersey - if you have any, try adding some 5 spice powder as well as honey, for a proper Chinese flavour :-D

Thanks loverlies, I was thinking honey, but might add the oxo cube wish me luck....in the slow cooker as we speak :-D

I would dilute a quarter of an oxo cube and add it to the sauce.

I cheated and took this from the net ;-)

You can thin it out with water or a sweet fruit juice. Adding more ketchup may help a bit, but it also has some acidity. You might try adding some honey or brown sugar to balance out the acidity.
