I didn't see it - but your title "How to get ahead" reminded me of a poster advert I used to see in the 1950's (when I was a child).

- "If you want to get ahead ---- get a hat!"

I didn't see it - but at Corfe Castle last year, they had a man who made medieval shoes/boots. If I'd had my meagre inheritance then, I would have bought some :-D

They were lovely boots - only £60 - but the soles looked slippery :-S

Is anybody watching "How to Get Ahead in the Mediaeval Court"?

It is brilliant. That's the way to teach history. Get 'em interested. Say it like it's today.
