"calm persistence" ....

The choice between the squalid short term and self interested policies of the Tories, the vapid incoherent and self interested policies of Labour and the pushmepullyou traitorous and self interested policies of the LibDems is a tough choice.

No wonder people vote for UKIP which is undemocratic dishonest and obtuse. It is at least consistent.

As far as I know none of the four above can truly be described as democratic.

I don't need a test to know what type of voter i am,

I'm a Tory at heart but refuse to vote for the conservatives as they stand,
I believe in some of labour's ideology but know it can never happen and be sustained in the real world for the same reason as Tory ideology, (because of human nature) Our politicians are not exempt from greed and corruption and you would have to go along way in order to find a honest one let alone an honorable one,

I saw that survey on the BBC News Channel, however I don't need a survey to see what kind of voter I am - I have seven key requisites any party must meet if they want my vote and they are:-

A party that does not resort to scaremongering to woo voters.
A party that delivers what they stated in their manifesto - nothing more and nothing less.
A party that is actually transparent, honest, and upfront about their policies.
A party that will legislate for the benefit of all and not just for the few.
A party that does not offer the voters one thing with one hand then takes it away with the other.
A party that is not divisive.
A party that will not treat the electorate as complete idiots.

Well I am allowed to dream, as far as I am aware governments have not legislated to ban that - Yet ;-)

I'm afraid I'm a 'Long term despair' voter.
I suppose this is what happens when Hampshire County Council 'regrades' everyone, and most of the admin lose their 'specialist' titles (I was a finance assistant) to become Senior Admin assistants (though we have no idea who we are 'senior' to), we were regarded from the bottom/middle of one grade, with incremental pay rises, to the top of the previous grade, with a pay cut and no hope of a pay rise - then a 5 year pay freeze.
As, at the time, I thought I only had 8 years before I retired, I didn't bother looking for a new job.
Then the goalposts were moved.
So, I'm now in the unenviable position of earning what I was earning 11 years ago, and STILL with 8 years before I can retire :-| :-|

I have no party affiliation. I simply vote for whoever I think is best equipped to run the country fairly.

Sadly, I haven't been very successful so far.

All manifesto-false promises should be treated as toilet paper.
