Personally I would delete immediately.

I get loads of similar from Inland Revenue about by tax returns (which I do not have to do.
All major high street banks, most of which I do not even have an account with
Paypal who I also do not use

Oh and loads tryinng to sell me Viagra etc.

All of which go mainly to my spam account, but the occassional one slips through, but I will still delete.

Looks highly dodgy. DON'T click anything, it could well load malware to your computer. Delete the entire email.

It's a bit like the clowns who phone you up to say they have detected a problem with your computer. They are after bank details/loading malware etc.

In all the years I have been using Microsoft I don't think I have ever had an email from them. I have had strange phonecalls from people with Indian accents saying they are from Microsoft.

I think you are right to be wary, Maddie. :-0

And I should just add that when I phone the helpdesk for BT Internet my conversations are with people with Indian accents and I always get impeccable service, invaluable help and my problems are solved. :-)

If in doubt as Mr. Magoo says DELETE and never open any emails from any companies you do not recognise and if in your SPAM inbox delete without any hesitation.

And if you do open an email which you are suspicious of NEVER open any attachments.

No business you deal with online will contact you asking for your details, such as passwords etc.

The first thing I would do is double check the IP address details - location, ISP etc

It could be legitimate but probably is not.

ANY email claiming there has been unusual activity on your account or problem with your log in is most likely to be a SCAM.

Also look out for any that are not addressed to you personally, dear user, member or dear your email name, is a giveaway, for example. These are also likely to be fake.

As stated, never open any attachments. If you hover over a link (Don't click on it!) then you will see its true address at the bottom of your screen, again a good giveaway it is bogus.

Better still, if you are not sure or not expecting it then don't open - delete straight away.
