The 71-year-old publicist Max Clifford, who last week was found guilty on eight counts of indecent assaults against several females aged 15 to 18, has just been given a sentence totaling 8 years in prison at Southwark Crown Court.

Judge Anthony Leonard ruled that Clifford should serve his eight sentences of between six and 24 months consecutively.

Judge Anthony Leonard also said he must serve at least 4 years before being considered for release.

I did consider using the Irish Gaelic version of those 'two words' - but pronunciation might cause some difficulty to a few readers.

And I didn’t want you all to parse them too much either.

Those who stand on a pedestal are easy prey to be toppled over. And It is tough work staying astride the moral high horse without a saddle.

I bet there's a few so called 'celebrities' who traded 'favours' to get their boozums on the 'famous for being famous' circuit.
How *does* somebody get a career with no discernible talent?

Hmmmm.....

I never liked the man, he used people, he was devious, there was something creepy about him, and he will try to use every trick in the book - including what he knows about other high profile people, to try and beat the justice system - hopefully he will fail and the judge will hand down the maximum sentence he can impose on this disgusting little lowlife sexual predator :-|

The law certainly works in mysterious ways Dermot, his sentence is estimated to be 2 years, hopefully he'll get at least 3.

Apparently, he was born with a capacity for lust & greed with the desire for power & the capacity for its misuse in pursuit of his own interests. He could rarely open his mouth without upsetting someone

It wasn't easy for him being God in human disguise. So now, we must listen solemnly to his appeals for justice as he uses every legal chicanery to take advantage of the law. But I doubt if this miscreant can wrest victory out of the midst of today's defeat.

But, you never know. Sometimes, the law works in mysterious ways.

Bet he don't McB, he'll get a custodial sentence, and rightly so.
