That's what I find so offensive Joy, the people who accuse the McCanns who have no knowledge of the case, they weren't there, they've just read what some tabloids choose to say, and you're right Madeline may well of left the apartment herself, but who found her,? Or maybe she met an untimely end alone, is that reason to speculate about what awful parents they think the McCanns are? I find that sort of talk offensive, yes it maybe something people would discuss with close friends, but slating them on the internet, isn't on.

When there is a court case going on, it isn't deemed correct to talk about if someone is guilty on websites, I think the same about The McCanns, they aren't charged for any offence, or on bail, yet some of the comments I've read are just disgusting.

By the way, did you know, back in the 60's, if you went on holiday to Butlins, people often left there children in chalets, and went out as there was a monitor where Nannies could listen out for your child, and if they heard crying they would say your name and chalet number over a a tannoy, and you'd go back to the chalet, thing is anyone could of heard that info, and got to the chalet before you did, but it was the norm tor people to use that system.

Edit to say.... just seen Dets reply, where she has said the same as me about holiday camps:-D

I can put my hand on my heart
and say I would love nothing more than
Madeleine to be found safe and well

and to be wrong about what I think happened to her
would make my day :-( :-(

I also think she is dead, probably killed quite soon after she disappeared/was abducted.

Although publicity can help reunite a taken child, I rather fear that in this case the abductors panicked.

Assuming that it was an 'stranger - abduction', the McCanns have probably spent much of the last few years thinking about what they would have done differently.
...........

On the two occasions when we had a family holiday when they were too young to stay up late

- the hotel had an intercom listening service to reception then a tannoy for the parents. We discovered that our child had been sick but hadn't called out (or at least the Reception hadn't heard anything)

- At a holiday camp there were patrols around the chalets. This was no different to what the McCanns and their friends said they did

In retrospect, there were opportunities for the child/ren to have been taken without anyone's knowledge.

I think some findd it unbearable as what they did was neglect, and if I decided to leave lil dude home alone n go the pub n get drunk, then id be charged with neglect, there is no evidence of an abduction, but I do know there actions alone caused a young girl to dissapear, if they hadnt left herhome alone then she might still be here, all depending on what actually happened in that appartment that night.

So people do blame them, I have my own veiws on what happened, but I can say hand on heart iv never left lil dude alone at home while I went out drinking, , but then I might be an over protective mum but my son is safe.

I get annoyed over it because this coulld have been provented but wasnt cause of there actions, my heart breaks to think what little maddie might have gone tro, my thoughts are with her

I don't think that is what Joy is saying at all !

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 8 May 2014 19:45

what I am saying is
the child could very well of left the apartment herself and met her fate
but without the parents leaving her home alone
this may never of happened

at least I am been kinder than some of the facebook sites
who accuse the parents of something much worse :-( :-(

~Lynda~

~Lynda~ Report 8 May 2014 19:40

So then Joy, you are saying that the McCanns "lost" Madeleine themselves then?

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 8 May 2014 19:35

there is no proof anybody abducted Madeleine if only there was
IF Kate thought she was abducted why did she on discovering her missing
did she then leave the twins on their own again
to go back to the tapas bar to raise the alarm
and in her book she admits she never searched for Madeleine that night

and no I never left my children home alone

~Lynda~

~Lynda~ Report 8 May 2014 19:21

I often wonder why it is that some people are more concerned about Madeleine being left, than they are about her abductor/s? odd that.

Anyway, I'll put my hands up and say that I left my children once while I was on holiday, I left them to go downstairs to get them a drink, there but for the grace of God and all that.

My daughter also went missing when we were shopping, she was 4 years old, she let go of my hand for seconds, we couldn't see her, the police were called and it turned out that she had crossed a road, without knowing. It was Christmas and we were in Oxford Street, a couple found her and thankfully asked her if she was lost, she said she was, but knew that Mummy & Daddy were going to John Lewis,so they took her there, at the other end of Oxford Street The Police got the call, and rushed us to John Lewis, you cannot imagine our relief when we saw her.

In both cases I have quoted, I dread to think if something had happened to my children, when they were away from me, doesn't bear thinking about, but HAD something happened, no doubt I would have had to live with the some of the gross comments the McCanns have had to.

Those who have a problem with the McCanns, should aim there hatred at the person/s who took her. If it turns out the McCanns had anything to do with her disappearance, as some seem to think, obviously they know so much more than the police, then they can clap there hands in glee and say "told you so", until then it'd be decent to say nothing.

If anybody wishes to call me a bad mother, then before you do, think back, put your hand on your heart, and say you have NEVER let your children out of your sight.

Focus your hatred on the abductor/s, they are the ones who deserve it.

As for could/will Madeleine be found, I sincerely hope so, never give up I say.

Dame*Shelly*(

Dame*Shelly*("\(*o*)/") Report 8 May 2014 17:16

you should never give up on a missing child
they still have family members that love them dearly

same as Ben Needham hopeing one day his mother will find him

Tenerife Sun

Tenerife Sun Report 8 May 2014 17:15

My hope for Madeleine is that she is alive and was taken to give/be sold to kind loving parents who could not have children of their own and desperately wanted a child to bring up as their own. In the unlikely event that this is true and she is found I think that maybe she should stay where she is with her 'family", friends and known way of life surrounding her.

1st time about this child even after 7 years have I spoken,

Graham,
I think that most people have said when she went missing and since that the parents should not have left the children locked in the apartment.
They may have been just 150 metres away but they couldn't see the front of the apartment.

I personally think she has been dead for the 7 years and nothing will be found even with the latest Radar machine.

God Bless Her.

Graham Report 8 May 2014 15:58

What ever faults the parents have is hardly the poor kids fault. What would suggest? That everybody should give up on her because some people don't like or don't believe her parents?

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 8 May 2014 15:53

I bought Kate McCann's book at a boot sale for 50p
it was 50 p well wasted :-(

not one word of remorse for leaving her children home alone

I myself don't think Maddie was abducted
I have always said she woke up and wandered off to meet her fate :-( :-(

wisechild

wisechild Report 8 May 2014 15:44

Even supposing she is eventually found alive, what would happen to her.
She has now been away from her family for twice as long as she was with them.
Imagine the trauma for the poor child if she was returned to her birth parents after all this time.
if she had been older when she disappeared it might be different, but how much can she possibly remember of her former life?

Dame*Shelly*(

Dame*Shelly*("\(*o*)/") Report 8 May 2014 15:08

i still don't understand why the McCann felt the need to give there daughter sleeping mendicant and leave them on there own

i do hope poor Madeleine is safe and well but can not say she deserves the parents she has

who in there right mind puts there child to sleep and gos out drinking
and i still dont understand why thay have not been done for child neglect

They obviously think somebody is buried at that site. So it's probably going to be bad news for somebody. :-(

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 8 May 2014 13:06

British police have been given permission to excavate a site in the area where she disappeared - sadly I fear she is dead - she had such a distinctive feature that she would have been recognised anywhere in the world

I hope I'm wrong

It's now been seven years since three year old Madeleine McGann disappeared. Scotland Yard detectives are apparently in Portugal investigating.

http://news.uk.msn.com/madeleine-officers-in-portugal

After all this time, what are the chances of her still being alive?

Whilst I hope she is alive and well; I'd hate to think about what she might have gone through during that time.

It must be awlful for the family, not knowing.
