Is this the one you mean:-

Apparently the site is off-line for maintenance at the moment.

Something you might want to consider if you don't do it already - when I buy and receive a BMD cert, I go the the FreeBMD site and add the information on the cert as a post'em to the reference for the person(s) and event concerned on the Freebmd.index.

I figure it might save someone else the need to get a cert as they don't come cheap nowadays.

Also, when you have a very common surname, you might be confronted with more than one possible cert, so if someone has added the details, it can help eliminate or confirm a particular cert reference.

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

Find the entry on the index, then click on the red 'info' button next to the person's name,

On the page that comes up will be a sentence saying 'you can add a postem to this entry' and a link to do so.

You might have to be succinct in the information you can transcribe, but I find you can get all the key stuff onto a postem entry.

Just a thought :-D

The site seems to be working OK, at least for searching. The maintenance message has been there for months I think.

I have added postems for all the certs I have, mostly correct certs, but it could help people to eliminate that couple (marriage) if they do not know which one they want. It might also find some relatives for me! I give my email address.
