Well: nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I struggled again with my dodgy radio again this morning to hear The Daily Service on Radio 4 (see original post).

Guess what? Midway through the broadcast the minister announced that the Daily Service is now available on BBC iPlayer!

And guess what? It works!

I am listening right now to a previous episode! They are only available for seven days and you can't listen to today's episode if you have missed it, but it's a big improvement. :-) :-)

I did complain, Hayley EoD ;-)
I'll let you know how I get on but I wouldn't hold your breath.
The chap said all the right things like they do of course.

Maggie I hope you sleep better tonight x

....I pay for my licence, and as the programme was/is a 3 part drama, missing part 2 would have made part 3 impossible to understand.
Part 2 was also very emotional, and tbh, I couldn't sleep after :-|

Part 3 is on tonight, fortunately the snooker has ended :-D

Hmmm, so it's older people AND sports fans the BBC don't worry about.

I am starting to sound like disgusted of Tunbridge Wells or Dizzi's Crabby Old Bat . . . :-D

I guess that they(Beeb) cant afford to compete for the sole rights to live F1 for the whole season, so selected venues are Live and others are recorded for highlights.

not Ideal but better than nothing........

(I don't subscribe to Sky or any pay to view station)

and that IS annoying hearing a result before I've seen it,

come to mention it, but at 75 I don't subscribe to the BBC either!!

;-)

Makes you think they like to dictate what you should be watching/listening to doesn't it?
It's like all the football/snooker on BBC1 and BBC2.
I don't like either sport, and certainly don't like a programme I was looking forward to watching, being put back by an hour because of snooker :-| :-| :-|

.....and WHY, when the Grand Prix is just highlights later on in the day, do they insist on telling you all about it on the news, 3 hours before you have the chance to watch it :-P

Apparently today's episode of high culture Church of England uplifting stuff on Digital Radio was pushed aside for Eurovision Song Contest pop up radio.

and their callous disregard for older people :-(

If a person doesn't want to have religion 'foisted' upon them they don't have to - you have to go to such tortuous lengths to even listen to the Daily Service (Radio 4 'Act of Worship') in the first place.

I usually tune in on Fridays on my day off but just now I pressed the 'scroll channels' button on my digital radio to move from Radio 4 to Radio 4 LW / Daily Service and it just said 'Station off air'.

Probably someone has forgotten to flick a switch.

And don't try to listen on iPlayer either - none of the episodes are ever available. :-0
