Jem, I so feel for you. Thank gawd those days are over for me for a while. Grandchildren far too young yet :-D

Mind you, my 6-yr old granddaughter goes to a bilingual school and we've been told that she is struggling a lot with her French :-(

Not a private school, btw - she's very lucky to have got in there :-D

I've just got back onto the site - the internet keeps going, it's worse than the Norfolk woollybacks! :-D :-D :-D ;-) ;-)

We'll be bringing lots of wine and pastis back, Mersey - it's our main excuse for coming over here! :-D :-D

A bottle of very dry white has been noted - or maybe a 3 litre wine box! ;-) ;-) ;-) :-D

Mersey

Mersey Report 12 May 2014 21:53

It sounds like your having a fantastic time GiN...so the wine will be flowing when you get back as well then??? :-D :-D

We're settled in for the night, Mersey. Happy with our wine and cheese. When we're in France, we tend to cater for ourselves while in a cottage. I love going to the local shops and markets, making use of the local foods - and taking stuff with us to make things like curries! :-D :-D ;-) ;-)
We're having a couple of nights in hotels on the way back, so will eat out then. :-D :-D

The last meal we have before coming home is mussels and chips - gorgeous! ;-)

Mersey

Mersey Report 12 May 2014 21:39

I love anything to do with flying, and microlighting is a big buzz! I bet your sister would love it, tell it to put it on her Cristmas wish list ;-) ;-)

I've done it once before, and soared high above Lincoln cathedral, and this time it will be above Ely and the Cambridgeshire fens :-D :-D

Mersey

Mersey Report 12 May 2014 21:21

We're coming back next Monday, Mersey :-D

We're going to visit La Rochelle and Isle de Rey later in the week - they are supposed to be lovely places, so we're looking forward to that. Really enjoying just relaxing and enjoying the French way of life - good food and wine! ;-) ;-) :-D

This is the area where they breed the frogs for their legs, and snails - and they feature on all the restaurant menus, along with eels! I like frogs legs, but not sure about the other two :-0 :-S
Did make us a nice chicken curry for our tea, though! :-D :-D ;-) ;-)
