I really started when my parents died 18 years ago as I inherited most of the family bits and bobs. Although, I can remember going with my dad some years before to a cemetry in Cambridgeshire where his mother's family came from. :-) :-)

But I suppose I really got hooked about 10 years ago when things started to become available online. :-) :-)

I was looking through some old postcards the other day and one of them was addressed to him as 2nd Airman and yet I'd never noticed it before. I have so many photos of him in his uniforms one of which was a Scottish Regiment. :-) :-)

I knew my GF was in the Army and for years have been searching for his records :-) but have not found any not even his Medal Card :-( So I thought they were destroyed in the Blitz. But then I remembered my Dad saying that he was in the Royal Flying Corp at some stage and I've only recently found out that the RFC was part of the Army but in 1918 became the Royal Air Force and his service records were transferrred to the RAF. I've now found his service records under the RAF so I'm gonna go and take a look at them :-D :-D

Just hope it's not gonna be just his name and rank :-0 :-0
