The vehicle had been travelling from the Plymouth direction towards Looe between Sandplace and Widegates when it crashed.

Nine people are believed to have serious injuries, five are described as having serious but not life threatening injuries and 40 are walking wounded, South Western Ambulance Service said.

It is reported 1 person is dead and most of the passengers are aged 60 and over :-(

Shirley - that is so true

When I look at the reported age of the majority of the passengers - I just hope and pray that there are no further fatalities.

Problem is with the elderly, although they may not be physically injured, the shock can cause all sorts of damage.
Sounds from early reports as though it might have been a holiday for senior citizens.
Poor souls.
Think I´ll stay at home.

How sad to end your holiday like that. Some of the roads are very windy and narrow but this was a coach from Exmouth so I assume the driver knew the route. I wonder what happened poor souls. Could be a tyre or anything.

It looks as though the brakes failed on a steep hill. 2 have died. The coach flipped onto its side.

I came home from Cornwall last Friday. One day I had to be a traffic marshall down a narrow lane from where we were staying into Wadebridge. It was up and down hill with pull ins. We came face to face with a Travers Perkins lorry. OMG I started to feel sick. I had to go back and ask all the drivers behind us to start reversing back up and find bigger pull ins. Then another trip over to Port Issac we were climbing up another narrow lane when met with another 2 cars coming down. Think my daughter burnt 2 years off of the clutch waiting for the cars to reverse up. Not good roads.
