Modern, traditional, or something completely different :-)

Traditional and 'wild' - plenty of native wild flowers with some nice shrubs with maybe a couple of 'exotics' for colour, an overgrown pond and lots of things attractive to wildlife (lavender, nettles etc.)

Same as Sheila. My own garden is like this plenty of wildlife and birds.

I don't like too much hard landscaping, I would prefer wild, the sort of garden you could get lost in which has lots of twists and turns, shrubs, woody bits full of bluebells, and unexpected litlle secret corners.

Hello Sirus

I would choose a cottage garden every time.

A large walled garden with a pond to attract newts, frogs etc, fruit trees and bushes, vegetable patch, herb garden, stocks, lupins, roses, honeysuckle, primroses, bluebells, campion, etc etc.

More or less the same as the others have said...............no decking or paving, we need all the green we can get

:-D

I would love something very modern with water and stainless steel and white walls and sculpture.

But I'm not the gardener so we have quite a traditional garden with flowers beds, lawns, lots of different grasses, trees and a veg patch at the bottom.

I would have the garden I have which is decked and paved
on a night its lite up like a fairy tale garden
with a small water feature
just for the sound of running water
and each hanging basket has a little bird that sings as you walk past

Hello Sirius,

Informal cottage garden, plants tumbling over footpaths. Old fashioned traditional cottage garden plants jostling for space in a riot of colour all summer.
A pond to keep koi carp, and to attract wildlife.
An area of woodland to just sit and listen to the birds - utopia :-)

Taditional, but tidy,,,,,, as it is now but with possibly a little alteration,...... :-)

Sirius Report 13 May 2014 22:26

Interesting replies thankyou :-)

Tecwyn, there can be very little in life that is more enjoyable than listening to the birds I think :-)

I have to have water somewhere in a garden, lovely to listen to.

My perfect garden would have a little stream running through, with an oriental bridge over it leading to a pagoda style summerhouse.

Ideally a very long garden that could be partitioned and accessed via arches into sections each with a different theme - cottagey, oriental, architectural, sensory that would be bliss.

Dear Sirius

Hello

I would like to sit in a garden that is like a peaceful and calm oasis with bird song and a water feature of some kind.

Various roses growing and shrubbery.

I could watch the sunsets, the rising of the sun and the full moons.

How wonderful this would be.

Take gentle care
With good wishes
Elizabeth,
xx
