Sorry for not getting back to the thread earlier. I have visitors and we went out for a meal last night.

Thank you all. I think it is part of a longer verse by someone else. I've put my 'sad hat' back in its box for a bit, I just had a bit of a lapse yesterday.

Wendy x

Ann, I hope all is well with you and you're family. I'll email you as soon as I can xx

Wendy, that's not a lapse, it's a normal feeling to have, life after loss is full of ups and downs, some people have more downs than others, depending how life is treating them at the time.

That verse is on the Remember me thread, I think. It is lovely and such a nice thing to find again. I love your idea of framing it to keep nearby. What a lovely man your husband must have been, don't forget you will meet again one day.

Thank you Liz. I am sure we will meet again in some way. I do have evidence of this. To look at my husband you wouldn't think he was the poetic type at all but he was very romantic and I was thoroughly spoilt so I have a lot to be thankful for x

Paula, thank you for your comments. Your husband was too young to go, I know life is treating you well now, long may it continue x

Liz thanks I'm okay. I have a couple staying with me at the moment for two weeks and the man has been doing some jobs on the house for me. I think watching him do things that my husband normally did, using his tools etc started me reminiscing a little too much :-(
Thank you for your concern

Wendy, let the feelings come out as they will, trying to be 'brave' all the time isn't good and you will have lots of times where a song, a smell or a situation will trigger a memory.

I am sure your hubby was keeping an eye on that guest using his tools, and thinking Well that's not how I would have done it, or vice versa.

Glad you have company and someone to help out too

Lizxx
