We were advised to use a product called Shiny Sinks on our new SS sink. Seems to work well.

If you get hard water problems so there is a build up in the ridges, use white vinegar to remove it.

Use a dish rack on the drainer so things don't go directly onto it that might scratch, don't let anyone cut things directly onto drainer area and if anyone wants to wash something without using a washing up bowl, that might scratch the sink, put a plastic liner in the bottom or any old teatowel folded up to protect the base of the sink.

You can use baby oil or vegetable oil to wipe over after you have cleaned the drainer etc, just round the outsides to make it look shiny and new but don't lean up against it or it will mark your clothes.

I use "Gumption" ~ an old-fashioned Aussie paste.

Make sure your kitchen sink sponge is non-scratch.

I use stainless steel wipes from the Range.........really cheap and very effective. I use them and rinse with water.
