it won't offend but if you are going out in this gorgeous weather and taking your dog, please don't leave it in the car. Just had a 'reminder' from the RSPCA to that effect come up on my facebook page.

Having just looked at the on line local news it would seem some people also have to be reminded not to leave babies and children in the car. :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0

we take our cat to the vet every morning , sometimes its to the main vet by appointment only. We have to juggle the vet with other medical appointments for us . I always am conscious she is penned up in the cat basket and at times in the car, we wont leave her unattended in a car park . I will take her home and be a bit late for an appointment rather than risk her being in the car and struggling because of the heat or lack of oxygen

It just needs thinking out before one sets off from home

would never forgive myself if something happened to her because I didnt think

Animals everywhere have little or no rights & the sentences handed out to those who abuse them rarely deter further maltreatment.

Canada has just passed a new law ...............

Quanto's Law will increase the penalties for injuring or killing a police or other service dog

It is named after police dog Quanto was stabbed to death in October 2013 by a suspect he was chasing

The proposed amendment is meant to protect all animals ........ primarily dogs and horses ......... that help in police and military work and assist people with disabilities as service animals.

Under the new law, anyone convicted of killing or injuring a service animal could serve a maximum of five years behind bars. A minimum sentence of six months would be handed down for a conviction if the animal in question was killed.

In some circumstances, the sentence might be added to any other sentence related to the same crime.

The minimum sentence will be 6 months.

The only charge that could be laid before this amendment was "cruelty to an animal"

Of course, the legislation now has to work its way through the House and the Senate.
