I didn't like my nana
I was uneasy in her presence
I was 9 when she died and remember thinking thank god for that
but now after doing my tree
I understand she has dementia and couldn't help the way she was :-)

It was a can of worms but I didn´t actually open it. It was 2 conversations with 2 different members of family (i from Mums side and 1 from Dads). Putting the 2 together along with memories of the past was slightly shattering. Not that there is anything I could do now to make any difference. There is nobody to shout at or berate for their stupidity.

I will be fine once I have got my head around it. as I said there is nothing I can do about it and it is not going to change anything. The people involved are either dead or dribbling in a corner (apart from the aunt) .

I think having the little piece of truth puts a lot of confusion of the past into some sort of sense. Not nice sense but I guess that is better than not understanding :-( :-(.

Good job Mother dear is no more mind because she would have a lot to answer to otherwise. :-D

Sometimes there is just an element of truth which they embellish to their own advantage. But the past is past, don't let what you learn upset you <3 <3

I think digging into the naughty secrets is okay ..once they are long dead but I am not sure the living should tell the daughter :-S
Well not about things that can't make a difference to the future apart from feelings.

To be fair ....Neither side realised that I can add 2+2, or that I would remember that
at far back.

I might have shrugged it off if it had been the opposite people who made the comments.
I am reeling with the knowledge I have and now that the memories are kicking in I know it must be true.
