We went about 4.15 this afternoon. There was a downpour and thunder just after 3, but that cleared up quickly within 45 mins or so. Trouble was that it coincided with the school run which might have put some people voting en route.

The person in charge said at that point in the day the turn out for our ward was about 15%, but hoped that it would pick up later. Presumably he wasn't not counting postal votes.

in person this morning - I was the only one there and with the appalling weather we've had here in this region today I imagine the turnout was abysmal - apart from horrendous thunder and lightning, we had flash floods and wall to wall rain for hours

I arranged a postal vote a few years ago as I was going to be away on holiday, and found it convenient so continued - (much good it did the first time, OH long-term independent councillor and current council chairman, lost!)
