A strange thing happened during my recent NZ holiday.

I decided to go for a walk one evening when we were staying in Wellington.

I was approached by a woman who asked me if I wanted to sleep with her for $100.

I wasn't feeling very tired, but I thought that the money would come in handy :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Why did you pick on Welly .... Any number of places would have sufficed.. No, I don't live in Wellington.. Love visiting there though. :-)

Susan-nz

With all the Maori place names, it was the only city that I could spell. :-D

Incidentally, I did really appreciate the Maori culture and legacy in the North Island. Far different to the Indigenous Australians

:-),

I was joshing...

Growing up in NZ, we are well 'versed' in the Maori culture, though when I was young and at school, I think we gave a token interest to the culture. Things have improved vastly, thankfully.
I have no Maori heritage in my tree but am always proud to witness a cultural event, the singing is amazing. Stories are told through song and dance. The spirit of the ancestor is very well respected and ever present.

I must admit to having visited Australia numerous times but have never taken the time to visit an Aboriginal experience.. I really should take the time...
When in Rome ;-)

Hi Susan-nz

I realised that :-D

I am not sure that the Aboriginals have experiences, as such. Whilst some are proud of their history and culture it seems to be retained within their Nation and not open to outsiders. Others just could not be bothered.

Whether that's down to the difference in how the Two counties (NZ and OZ) were settled by the Europeans or not I don't know :-(

You should have held out for more than $100 Allan, but maybe that is all she thought you were worth. :-)

And don't forget Laddo,
We have the Consumers' Guarantees Act over here - so if the product doesn't perform as promised - she could have got her money back. ;-)

But she only wanted me to sleep with her. A few glasses of red and I will sleep like a baby...including the bed wetting part :-D :-D
