Aw, Barb - bless your OH :-) :-) :-)

Mine tends to take on too much - he's now the unofficial handy man as well as treasurer for our village hall. He enjoys it all, but I wish he'd say NO sometimes! :-| :-D ;-)

Must be nice living in a village and involved with the community
GiN :-)

GinN

GinN Report 23 May 2014 16:30

It is up to a point, Emma, but you sometimes find you can't be as private as you are in a town - everybody knows your business. On the plus side, we all look out for each other. I had always lived in a big town until I came here 30 years ago, and it came as a bit of a culture shock.
I think the plusses outwiegh the minuses, though - I appreciate the peacefullness! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Fly

Fly Report 23 May 2014 16:34

Emma it ok living in a village but when we were growing up we were only

Allowed in the pub for parties if we were under age :-( the landlady used

To keep a diary with all our birthdays in :-0 she knew when we were all born :-D

'Emma'

'Emma' Report 23 May 2014 16:35

I can see that GiN about being private, I would like to be involved
in village life, as you say the peace and quiet must be lovely :-)

We are quiet for the area we are in as we live outside the centre of town :-)

'Emma'

'Emma' Report 23 May 2014 16:37

Ah Fly a local pub, church and village fetes,
how very Midsummer ;-) :-D

GinN

GinN Report 23 May 2014 16:39

As long as we live near towns, which we do, then I'm happy :-D :-D :-D

Village life can be claustrophobic. If there comes a time when neither of us can drive, we'd need to go back to town life - there's not even a shop or a bus service here :-) :-) :-)

'Emma'

'Emma' Report 23 May 2014 16:42

I can see the problem with no bus service GiN, too
isolated :-)

Fly

Fly Report 23 May 2014 16:42

Emma we only have 1 pub a post office and a church ;-)

'Emma'

'Emma' Report 23 May 2014 16:43

Goodness Fly, must be a very small village :-0
