Merlin Report 28 May 2014 14:18

I wonder who it was reported the wedding to the press? also how much they were paid for doing it,As has been said she should(in my opinion) have served longer but the person who sold this to the press causing more stress to the childrens parents should also be censored for doing so. Thus wasting all that money giving her a new identity.

Only one good thing about this, she has been working and paying taxes. I suppose keeping her in prison for longer would have cost taxpayers just as much as letting her out and giving her a new identity.

Maybe she has married a decent person who will help her to do some good with her life altho nothing will make up for the loss of those two girls and her delaying the police finding out it was Huntley who killed them wouldn't have brought them back alive.

To see the reports about her happy wedding day is like a slap in the face for the families of Holly and Jessica.

Kay???? Report 27 May 2014 21:56

I belive she deserves to be able to get on with her life, even though her term should have been served in full.!!,,but she will be ever haunted by her relationship with Huntley and how she lied so honestly for him,,,,,,,does she deserves to be covered by the Mary Bell order, No,! I dont belive she does,,,,but she knows she will be forever dispised by the public and any media reporting will re-kindle all the hatred thats felt for her.
,,,,,,,her family still iive where they did,so news gets around about her comings and goings, I'm sure, and sure her whereabouts and ID is known but the Bell order forbids it being revealed by anyone.

What we are forgetting is that Ian Huntley also was abusing her as well.

He was known for abusing his previous girlfriend.

I blame the press. She, as has been said before, has been living a very low key life with a new identity.

Yes protecting him at the time was wrong, but we know that men like him get away with a lot through bullying.

Someone who is besotted it seems :-(

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 27 May 2014 20:04

what kind of nutcase would have wanted to marry her :-S

Sirius

Sirius Report 27 May 2014 19:52

It could well be someone outside her family and friends, on the groom's side, put 2 and 2 together, perhaps even someone just checking out her identity online, that's what happens here if someone's name doesn't quite 'fit'.

The mother was obviously being watched, someone out to make a quick buck perhaps, not actually a friend or relative.

JoyBoroAngel Report 27 May 2014 19:46

I don't agree with her been given a new ID at all :-(

I think it sends out the wrong message to people :-D

supercrutch

supercrutch Report 27 May 2014 19:44

Further details of the wedding cannot be published as Carr is protected a lifelong anonymity order due to intense media interest in the notorious case.

I agree with you Sis and she should have been in prison a lot longer. And not given police protection but maybe a new identity.

No matter where she lives in the UK someone will find her and expose her. That's her problem.

supercrutch

supercrutch Report 27 May 2014 19:33

Yes it's the media who bear responsibility but someone within her family or circle of friends fed them the information.

Maxine Carr should herself have remained within the bounds of common decency and insisted that any leaks to the press would ensure the informant was vilified. I'm pretty sure I could choose a group of friends with whom to share a secret which they would keep to the grave.

I'm angry and can't express myself terribly well but I hope you understand what I mean.

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 27 May 2014 19:29

she allegedly lived a couple of miles from us
she was living a very low key life
till somebody walked into B&Q where she worked
and smacked her in the face

I think many women would give their partners a alibi
if they truly believed they where innocent

I mean look at your own partners
could you believe they are capable of murder I think not
or you wouldn't be with them :-D :-D

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 27 May 2014 19:14

Surely it's the media.
What's disturbing to me, is the fact that someone in the media knows her new identity - and has obviously spread it around to other reporters. More money wasted on another new identity.
She should also be banned from giving interviews.

Sirius

Sirius Report 27 May 2014 19:12

It would have been 'low key' if the papers had not reported it? That was their choice not, I assume, hers. It is the papers who have caused the hurt to the families by reporting it, they could have chosen to leave it alone.

SheilaSomerset

SheilaSomerset Report 27 May 2014 19:09

Sorry, I still don't get it? Did she advertise her wedding then and invite newspapers along?

Mersey

Mersey Report 27 May 2014 19:07

I agree with you Sue about low key, it is disturbing :-S

supercrutch

supercrutch Report 27 May 2014 19:04

Sheila simply because IMO she should continue to live a very low key life. Any publicity via the MSM must be horrendous for the murdered childrens' families.

She knew exactly what she was doing at the time and again IMO she didn't pay a sufficient price.

Sirius

Sirius Report 27 May 2014 19:02

I think there are many women who would not wish to believe the man they are with capable of any crime, let alone one so horrendous, that does not excuse her giving him a false alibi of course, but there are men who are very convincing and very manipulative. A woman with low self esteem or of a very trusting nature might well believe the word of their partner.

SheilaSomerset

SheilaSomerset Report 27 May 2014 18:59

Why is it disturbing??

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 27 May 2014 18:59

disgusting - I knew she was working in a supermarket in Yorkshire somewhere at one time - what a waste of money giving her a new identity - I hope she rots in hell along with Huntley
