When a former computer of mine broke down our guru took it away to check - and sent me a photograph of the gunge inside completely blocking it! It did work after he cleaned it - but I'm sure it will happen again with this one as I wouldn't dare to open it up to look inside. I did a keyboard in once by spilling coffee, but said guru advised me to get a cheap one from A--s.

I used to use the laptop when in bed, but that is a no no..

it got slower and kept over heating so needed it to have all the dust bunnies removed. Now I have it on a board on my lap and do not hear lots of whirring and it doesn't get too hot.

and yes Sharron even the computer office dachshund (their official guard dog) looked rather askance at my machine. The dog looked askance at me another time I had sat in his chair.

I'm pretty sure you can get teeny sucky cleaners (I don't think they are big enough to be called vacuum cleaners) for cameras...... must look in the gadget shop.

I have always just tapped away on mine without noticing what it was like (think Waynetta Slob and then some!).

Then I opened it up in the record office.

Oh the shame!

Cynthia.. is Mrs Clean and she vacuums her Keyboard and yes keys have gone up the cleaner pipe and have had to be extracted from the bag.

I remember Dizzi getting a new keyboard after she got honey and I think cinnamon on it.

I use a little brush and it has an air puffer to it I think it was for records.. was his but I commandeered it.. I have a computer cloth that I put on the board when I shut the laptop and seems to keep it in a fairly "undusty' state.

Be careful if you try to clean a keyboard with the vacuum cleaner.... loose keys might get whooshed!

You can run along the straight lines with the sticky end of a PostIt Note....... I use a Pickster for the other bits.

It's amazing what falls out of the keyboard when you turn it upside down & shake it.

Reminds me of my Gran.

She would puff away on a fag without removing it from her mouth. The ash would get longer and longer until it dropped off and fell down her cleavage.

My Dad would say.........."Don't forget to shake your knickers out before you get into bed!!"
