A question of insurance, comes to mind............at least in the UK it would......

these days even commuting has to be on the policy as well as the old " social domestic and pleasure"

and if it isn't, you just ain't covered........
I would have needed business cover to deliver items belonging to someone else....

using my car while filling in for a mate who was on holiday.......

In our morning paper someone related the following:

"A workmate (an accountant) was telling a story of her thriftiness while living in London several years ago. She was stuck 20 mins from home and needed a lift. Her solution? She called into a pizza franchise and ordered a pizza to be delivered and then got into the delivery vehicle with the unbelieving driver who obliged by 'delivering' the pizza"

This could also work for a safe way to get home on a dark night and you have missed the bus or whatever. Saves a cab fare and dinner is ready when you get home.
