The old man who used to live across the road died about eighteen months ago. Since then weeds and grass have started to take over on his block paving as well as the garden.....It is quite fascinating as it puts me in mind of the programme that showed how the earth would change if all the people were gone......I can now see how quickly things deteriorate and also get covered with earth.......wish I had known to film it.......anyway....this is what I can see from my window.....a bitter sweet sight/site.

Mizzly, drizzly rain but through it I can see a deep crimson rose that has just come into bloom, two big tubs of lilies about to open and four bluetits hanging on a fat ball feeder.

Lovely thread. Made me look through the rain at the good things out there.

I've Just had a look out of the upstairs window, and the first thing I saw were the lovely bright red/orange poppies, such a shame they don't last more than a few days, they are spectacular. Another thing I noticed was the sound of birds, lots of tweeting going on, they must be getting ready for bed :-D

It's well and truly dark here , so I can't see a great deal from the lounge window except for floodlights illuminating palm trees and, beyond those, some restaurant lights twinkling in the distance.

I can see my cat, flat on his back on the sunlounger which he has claimed as his own, with his back legs wide apart, showing his wares to the world.
No shame & not a care.

Tenerife sun
I have been to Tenerife but it was in the 80's and I took my mother as she had been ill with depression.
We stayed in Puerto de la Cruz at the Monopol hotel.
I was really disappointed as although they said it was the oldest hotel, colonial style and on the flat for my mum,it was in need of an upgrade...the electrics were hanging out of sockets and the tiles in the bathroom had seen better days.I asked to be changed for the 2 nd week, and we were then in a more modern hotel with entertainment.
We went on a trip to Mount Teide and thought the island really lovely..would love to go again sometime.
There was a big German influence in the town I believe and a lovely cafe that sold the most gorgeous cheesecake .
Funny ,the things you remember!

Brenda I hope the weather stays good for your family on their holiday and that you are able to spend lots of time together

Last night it was dark when I reported in but the sky was just a bit red.

This morning was glorious. Our beautiful mountain, Teide, shone in the sun. I can see it from my bedroom window. From the kitchen and living room I can see the sea.

Obviously the sky wasn't red enough and the shepherds weren't all that delighted. The cloud has covered the sun and very soon you would never know that the mountain existed. The cloud has already obscured the top of it. But on the bright side it's lovely and warm.

I can see the sea and loads of windmills from my lounge front window.
It's lovely and sunny at the moment.
From the back I can see my garden that is raised with a nice patio and Spanish tiles set into the risers of the steps. Also my garage that has ivy covering this side.
I'm getting excited as I am waiting for a call from my grandson to say they have arrived in the caravan they have booked for a week about 5 miles awAy.
Hope the weather is going to stay as it is as they have little Katie ,who was so poorly and her brother Thomas.
Longing to see them!
