So do I - but she'll have to do better in her maths :-|
She's with my ex tonight - MA in maths, instructions from daughter to ex to buck her ideas up.
Grandsons (6 and 4) are with me - ice cream, bath, DVD, drawing and bed. I guess I didn't draw the short straw :-D

Daughter out on the town :-D

I totally agree with you Maggie! I think it's much more exciting!

Tell Blossom to practice hard, and that I hope she'll make the Ladies National Rugby Union Squad one day :-) :-)

Naaa . It's more encompassing than that - it's Blossom :-D

Having said that, her tongue tied brother (6 years younger) couldn't say it - he called her Bottom, so it became Button, Her even younger and more tongue tied brother couldn't say Button - so now she's Bun!

I'm either Granny Parp (blame the grand prix and a leather sofa), Granny Meow (3 cats) or Granny Ice cream.

I love Rugby Union, much better than Rugby League.

My 12 year old grand daughter plays Rugby Union - she loves it :-D
Daughter had to get her some new boots - she wanted ones with 'proper' studs - they hurt more :-S

WELL!!! S4C ONLY SHOWED DISJOINTED HIGHLIGHTS :-| :-| :-| :-|

It was the Battle between The Leeks and The Shamrocks today, but The Shamrocks, proved the hardiest and won the day!

WALES 21 - IRELAND 35

Ireland had a very strong start, which gave them a 14-0 lead after scoring 2 tries and 2 conversions, very early on.

One of these tries was caused by a bad mistake by two Wales players. Joshua Adams and Ashley Evans both watching the ball bounce, expecting the other to go for it, which allowed Ireland to take possession of the ball and score.

As in the match against Fiji, Wales was again awarded a penalty Try by the referee, because Ireland was undisciplined in the scrum.

At one point Ireland had to play with two players short, as they were yellow carded in short succession of each other.
First Prop, Peter Dooley, for coming up in the scrum.
Then Alex Wootten, for very dangerous play. He allowed his knee to drop forcefully into Wales' Angus O'Brien's back, as O'Brien had fallen to the floor while picking up the ball.

Wales also had a player yellow carded. Jack Dixon was sent off for a bad tackle.

POINT SCORERS FOR WALES:
Tries- Tyler Morgan; Penalty Try awarded by Referee; James Benjamin.
Conversions- Angus O'Brien (3)

POINT SCORERS FOR IRELAND:
Tries- Rory Burke; Gary Ringrose (2); Cian Kelleher.
Conversions- Ross Byrne (3)
Penalties- Ross Byrne (3)

What was the Wales Juniors Head Coach- Byron Hayward's view of the match?

Byron Hayward has said that they are “bitterly disappointed” with the teams performance against Ireland today.
He said that they made too many “silly errors behind the scrum”. He also laid the blame for their defeat on the backs-
"Our backs let the forwards down today, and we have to take responsibility for that, it cost us the game."

Wales now needs to put this disappointment behind them, and train hard for their next game, when they face France on Tuesday (10th June)

Commiserations to our young Wales team.
Congratulations Ireland.

WALES 48 ..... FIJI 19

Wales got off to a cracking start with a Try just 7 SECONDS into play by DAFYDD HOWELLS! :-) :-)

Tries:
1st/ Dafydd Howells; 2nd/ James (Jumbo) Benjamin; 3rd/ Penalty Try awarded by Ref;
4th/ Penalty Try Awarded by Ref; 5th/ James Benjamin; 6th/ Ben Roach.

Fly Half (no. 10) Angus O'Brien scored 4 Penalty Goals and 3 Conversions.

Injuries were sustained byTyler Morgan, Captain Steffan Hughes, and a head injury to Ben Roach during his Try, which he scored after the clock had turned red at end of match.

I was very impressed with the young Wales team, particularly with their powerful driving.
A feature of their style of play appears to be in choosing penalty scrums, as opposed to going for goal, or Kicking for position and line-out.This is probably because they had the far superior driving force.
The Fijians appeared to be very undisciplined at times, which lead to the Referee awarding the penalty points to Wales. It also led to yellow cards to Fijian players.

WELL DONE WALES <3

OTHER RESULTS:
(GR Community Countries)

New Zealand 48 ... Samoa 12
Ireland 13 ... France 19
England 63 ... Italy 3
Scotland 3 ... South Africa 61
