My understanding is that if you delete an individual message it is removed from your folder permanently, but not from the sender / recipients folder. A bit like an email, really. |

A way to find out would be to send somebody a message that you know is actively on this site and tell them not to open it. Then try deleting the message and see what happens. ;-) |

Mayfield I could be wrong and someone will hopefully clarify this but you can still delete your messages and if there is any reply from them at a later date you can go back into your contact list and find all messages in there... :-) |
